  DELL UP2715K Color Calibration

  Just picked up a new Mac Pro (Late 2013) and opted for the AMD FirePro D700 6144 MB and DELL UP2715K. The rest of the shop is still on iMac’s using the default iMac display color setting.

  90% of what we cut and publish is destined for YouTube / web only.
  10% is destined for broadcast.

  From my research we should be looking to get to 2.2 @6500 // REC 709
  Correct me if I’m wrong on that.

  The question is how to get there…and do I really need an external monitor for accurate color work?
  If you have specific experience with this monitor I would love some advice on calibration.
  If you have suggestions for external solutions I’m open to them – but we don’t do enough broadcast TV work to really justify it yet.

  If you recommend a calibration solution = Xrite or ColorMunki? THANK YOU!

  Yes. Whether or not you you think the work you do justifies the expense is a different question.

  For the lower end of displays look at the HP DreamColor monitors or Flanders Scientific. Some models aren’t that much more expensive than the Dell you just bought.
