  Does exporting part of the timeline save time in the final export?

  Hi everyone,

  I am working on a talk show project which has about 30 mins of multi-cam footage for each episode. I am done with all the editing, inserting lower thirds etc for the main program and I’m now waiting on the intro and credits to be delivered. I was wondering that if I export my part of the timeline as I am waiting for the files, will it improve the speed of the final export after I have added intro to the beginning and the credits towards the end? If so, how significant a difference should I expect? Will there be any loss in quality of the final product?

  Forgive me if some of our questions sound naive. Any response or advise will be greatly appreciated.

  Some codecs are smart…

  flavors of quicktime (prores)

  and XDCAM…

  where you can use the files for faster export.

  So yes it can be beneficial to do that….
