Can you used the clips ‘Date Modified’ instead of timecode?

I’m using Win 7, CC 2014
In the same way you can use timecode to synch footage along a timeline. I’m wondering in the absence of timecode if there is some script/software that would read the date the footage was made and maybe write it in as timecode?
I have 200+ small clips (with no audio) made in my Canon 5DM3 and one long ambient audio file with no cues to synch with.
In my defense I always intended to have 100% music bed in the edit but of course now I’m thinking hum maybe this ambient noise is rather interesting to include.

Go into the Metadata a go to Basic; there you will find Modification Date.

If I remember correctly Red Giant’s Grinder wrote TOD timecode to files. They don’t have it on the website anymore so I don’t know if they’ve made another program that does that.

I looked into “Red Giant’s Grinder” its now been reworking into a product called Bullet Proof that’s part of a suit.
It looks like an amazing piece of software. My files are currently in a format Bullet Proof does not accept. I’ll transcode into some think it likes and take a better look then.
