I love Premiere Pro’s Ultra-key tool. It does a fab job of popping out green screens. However, I recently did a shoot where you can detect a just a hint of green coming through the subject’s blonde hair. I’ve been unable to find a remedy and hope someone with a similar issue could share their success story.

    Thanks in advance…

Try Spill Suppression in the ultra key effect.

Thanks Al – I used all the Ultra Key options in different combinations and found that Tolerance (at 100%) worked best. I imagine it took about half the green out of her hair which is good, considering it wasn’t a very noticeable issue to begin with. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

You can always try doing the keying in After Effects – you have more keying options in there.

I’ve had excellent luck when I have to really make spill suppression bite in the Ultra Keyer by duping the foreground layer (in this case, your blonde young lady) and blurring the foreground layer behind slightly to deal with some of the edge harshness that can result, particularly with hair.
