I just moved a project from a home studio (w Premiere CC) to a job site and I don’t hear any output or see the VU move on my Seq or source mp4 files. However I can generate tone and hear that and import another mp4 (as a test) into Premiere and hear that.

When I select a source mp4 and get Properties I see the following…

Source Audio Format: 48000 Hz – compressed – Stereo
Project Audio Format: 48000 Hz – 32 bit floating point – Stereo

Do I have to change the Proj to be able to play audio? Or what? I’m stumped because this same project was fine on a different Mac so I can’t figure how it might have changed or what is going on?

Thanks in advance for ay suggestions.

The source mp4’s that are not cooperating are compressed AAC 48k

comparing a Premiere proj that is playing correctly vs my problem one…

NG Source Audio Format: 48000 Hz – compressed – Stereo
OK Source Audio Format: 44100 Hz – 16 bit – Stereo

I stumbled on a solution for the snag. I took one of the source mp4’s and made a new seq by dragging it to the New Item icon (starting a new sew that matched source) played that and…. eureka! the audio played and from there on in everything did.
