  merge / split video channels in after effects ( or other tool if known )

  microscope ( medical imaging ) has the ability to output to 8 bit colorspace ( 8 bit red, 8 bit green, 8 bit blue ) frame sequence which can exported to .avi. i would like to see if i could “merge” the 8 bit movies into “rgb” overlaying the different colorspace to see cell activity. photoshop can do this but have been unable to see if possible in after effects. have checked final cut pro and it cannot. the platform is mac based ( osx 10.4 ) so looking for that solution. please let me know if possible or perhaps another tool/plugin that could do this.

  Put your sequences on top of each other using the “Add” blend mode.

  Thank you for the response and i will do just that. i looked through the manual ( and online ) and really saw no reference. in photoshop, it is in the layers/channel palette. will experiment with various movies. but this gives me something to go on.
