Made a little intro for a company that makes metal targets. Crosshairs move around the screen as targets fall down.

Customer wants everything outside of the crosshairs to be blacked out, like you were looking through a scope.

I can’t figure out how to do this, can you help?

Create a Photoshop document that is larger than your frame size. So for example, if the video is 1920×1080 then make it something like 3000×2000. Drop the reticle into the document, size it to fit and make sure any white or similar aspects are removed to make it transparent. Then fill the outside of the reticle with black.

Here’s an example as a .png. You should obviously use an approved image that you have permission to use.

I already have the reticle movement animated, can I create a photoshop document and somehow transfer the reticle movement to the whole document?

Sorry for the easy question, I have used mostly Vegas in the past.

Once you create the new PSD document, you should be able to alt+click+drag the new asset on top of the old one to replace it while retaining any effects and keyframes. Good luck.
