Would an uphrade from i5 3550 to i7 3770 be worthwile
Subject kind of say it all. My PSU needs replacing and due to having a large Zalman heatsink I am having to remove the heatsink and was thinking if I was doing this I may as well upgrade CPU. The 3770 seems to be the best S1155 CPU so am considering it.

How much RAM are you running? And I assume you have a great video card with tons of RAM. And your OS on an SSD drive?
It’s not likely you will see a huge noticeable difference in this CPU upgrade. Worthwhile means cost effective to me. They speak of about a 20% difference, but not sure you will see it in Adobe.
The benchmarks at the site below speak of better graphics, but only when using the internal graphics chip. We are usually using external processing on a dedicated card.

Thanks, will give it a miss. does not seem to be worth it. Very sceptical about the SSD thing, unless you are using swap which would indicate a memory upgrade was needed. It never seemed worth the money for simply loading programs faster. Almost as silly as 4k TVs in a domestic living room;).
