  • Premier Pro CC works on one user account and not the other??

    Hi,
Hope someone has experience with this one…
I recently signed up for Creative Cloud and subscribed to Premiere Pro CC (v8).
It works fine on one user account on my macbook Pro running Mavericks (10.9.3) and crashes on my main user account?
But both user accounts have admin privileges.

I did have Adobe CS5 installed at the same time but have since uninstalled all of it (inc preferences) and still the same problem persists – opens in one user and not the other. I really need to get it operating in the user account that it’s crashing.
It appears that the Red Giant plug-in ‘Universe’ is where it crashes when the opening screen attempts to load. I can’t find where this is located to delete it, but I’m wondering whether that’s truly the problem considering I can open the software in the other user account no problem.
Appreciate anyone’s advice on this 🙂
    Thanks
    Andrew

    Hi Andrew,

It’s been ages – hope you’re well. I recently had a heap of issues that seemed to be preference related where my RedGiant plugins weren’t working, and I was getting conflicts that would often cause Premiere to crash. The reasons my problems started came about with the 10.9.3 update and unfortunately the only way forward for me, was with the release of 10.9.4 – I did a clean reinstall of my system, all my apps and plugins. Now everything works as it should. If you keep having problems I would recommend putting aside a day, backing up everything and starting from scratch, it’s a bit of pain up front, but in my case was definitely worth it.

If you don’t have time for that – I’d suggest contacting RedGiant support – they were very accommodating, and might have a solution that works for you.

    Cheers,

    Myles.

Geez Myles it’d be close to 10 years.
Fancy crossing swords with you here!
Thanks very much for your tips.
After posting I did upgrade to 10.9.4 but didn’t do an entire OSX wipe, just the update.
    Unfortunately it’s still playing up.
I will contact Red Giant direct as you suggest and hopefully get a work around.
    How’s things at CBF? Busy??
