  • Trouble opening an Adobe Premiere CS5 file in CC

I have a project I created on CS5 at home, but I want to complete it on CC 2014 at work, using my new MacPro.

Every time I try to open the file, I get this error:

This project contained a sequence that could not be opened. No sequence preview preset file or codec could be associated with this sequence type.

It is all Red footage, so I thought it might have something to do with Red codecs. But when I start a new project, and import a Red footage, it works fine. It has something to do with the sequence.

I am at my wits end. Any ideas?

    Hi Ben,

Were you using a special sequence, like Blackmagic, or AJA? Do you still have access to CS5?

    No special sequence.
Yes, I can access it on CS5 at home, but I wanted to try it out on my new MacPro at work, using Creative Cloud. Take the new toy out for a spin. 🙂

I got a response from Adobe saying it was an activation issue.
Trying to work it out. If I get it fixed I will post the solution.

If anyone else has an idea, please share!

That would make sense. If the license is in some kind of trial version, you would likely be missing quite a few sequence presets.
