    Hi there,

I just wanted to get a sense from everyone here whether or not CC2014 is stable.

I’ve been reluctant to upgrade since having a bad experience with the whole multicam debacle when the
upgrade to 7 (I think it was) happened, and I got seriously burned.

I see they just released a massive bug fix. In spite of those issues, have you been finding the
CC2014 just as stable as CC7, or less/more so?

    Thanks in advance.

It feels a little buggy. I’ve been having a lot of issues with Premiere, especially with dynamic link to AE, and general playback issues while AE is open. Having said that, I just downloaded the bug fix, so we’ll see if that helps

Every NLE has a few bugs — they’re like ants in the kitchen: you’re never without a few. However, in my experience, PP has always felt a bit “clunky” in its ergonomics, the way it “drives”. It’s a mystery to me, considering how well-designed Photoshop’s control is for humans; they’re both Adobe. Figuring out what the programmers were thinking when they wrote the app is a large part of getting the most out out of the app, and I’m scratching my head more often with PP than with FCP or Avid, asking “now why did they do it THAT way?” What you want is often there; you just need to discover where they “hid” it. AE is a bit better, but also sometimes clumsy, too.

I use Adobe Acrobat a lot professionally … what a buggy, clunky program . . . we writers have all learned workaround strategies to deal with regular crashes and freezes, and to make do with clumsy, unpredictable, semi-functional features … I’m always amazed that major medical advertising corporations build business workflows on this buggy software and that it’s the same company that purports to offer high-end photo and cinema software. Don’t expect too much from Adobe and you won’t be disappointed. Got to live with the bugs.
