    Hi guys,

We are looking to make DCP files from a feature length film (97 minutes) project that was originally shot in HD video (Canon T3i) – could you recommend what’s the best way to do it? How long does that usually take to finish?

    Thanks so much,
    George

I’ve successfully done one with opendcp and about to do another this week.

I did a 30 minute HD documentary to DCP and this is how long things took to do
    on a 2009 macpro 8 core with 16gb ram

encode time: 3 hrs 45 min
compile time: files to package 15 min
copy to pc time: 5 min
copy to ext3, USB Hard Disk media time: 45 min
    dcp_inspect time: 1 hr 10 min

for max compatibility I recommend to package it with Interop instead of SMPTE
and copy the dcp to an EXT3 formated drive with an inode of 128.
