Merge Clips and audio sync problem in Premiere Pro CC
Hello great people,
This is my first post at Creative Cow, I’m glad to be a part of it.
I’m editing a short film and I’ve started using the “Merge Clips…” option to do the syncing of image and sound together with the “In Points” option as the Synchronize Point. I’m doing all syncing in the Project Panel. In this film I have up to 8 separate audio clips to sync with 1 video clip per take.
Btw, when I sync I like to use the “Show Audio Time Units” option to get the sync perfectly, but that option looks like trouble for the “Merge Clips…” option.
My Premiere Pro CC “Merge Clips…” option is not working as it should; when i merge my clips together the sound jumps separate ways (very-very slightly) out of sync. What could cause this?
All of my separate recorded sound is 48000hz 24 bit mono and seem to be fine. For me it seems like the “Merge Clips…” option is ignoring my in points made with the “Show Audio Time Units” option on. I’m not sure but I think I hear an echo effect in the merged clip as well, very-very slightly but importantly though.
I made an example and took some screenshots. Just for notice: the sound clips are not from the same take, just made up to show an example:

SCREENSHOT 2Hope someone know a solution or a work-around. I’m also thinking, maybe the problem is as simple as software bug.
Thanks for reading guys!
Best Regards,
Daniel
