    Hi,
I have footage shot on two Canon G10 Prosumer cameras of a singer on stage for one hour.
I want to create a multi cam edit, but am not sure how or when to add adjustments layers as each camera has a different exposure and I need to adjust each one in many places.
I imported the folder with all of the AVCHD files in it and added the first file to the timeline as I was instructed so that the spanning would be correct. So now I have two video tracks on the Timeline, but it seems I had to create the multi cam sequence before I did this, but can’t figure it out because I don’t have just one file from each camera.
Should I export each camera on the timeline to a single file and then make the multicam sequence? Will I still be able to add adjustment layers then too?
    Thanks.

You don’t need to to add adjustment layers.

You can add the corrections directly to the camera clips in the source multicam sequence.

One more thing regarding my initial post above.

Is it possible to create a multi cam sequence with the MTS files in the Project Panel, or, do I have to add them to the Timeline and then Export each of the two cameras of this one hour music concert to two separate, single video files and import them into the Project and THEN create the multi cam clip?

It’s a bit time consuming and I was hoping there was a way to create the multi cam sequence from the Project Panel just from the spanned MTS files (there are about 4-5 MTS files for each camera).

    Thanks.

I’ve never worked with MTS files, but I don’t see why you should need to export them first. Have you tried highlighting all necessary MTS files in the project bin, right-clicking, then clicking “Create multicam sequence”? If that doesn’t work, put each MTS file in its own sequence, then highlight all those sequences in the project panel and try the same steps.

Multi-cam in PPro really just looks at the layered sequence as the source of the multi cam.

So whatever is on the corresponding source track at any given time is what the multicam viewer will see…

Thanks, everyone. I’m very excited about trying those suggetions when I get back to my video computer later.
Regarding the same initial question here at the top.
Do you think this will work for Green Screen too?
I shoot music videos, using two cameras, a long shot and a close up.
I’ve been laying each camera on the timeline and keying it with whatever background each camera has, but can’t figure out if it’s possible to make a mutli cam sequence using the green screen. Now I’m wondering if those same suggestions above will apply or will there be any other unexpected issues that I may run into?
    Thanks again.

Well… if you are doing a long and CU in your multi cam…

I probably set up a sequence for the Long and it’s bg. (keyed)
and a separate for the CU, an it’s background. (keyed)

Both of them keyed and basically framed to your liking.

Then those sequences become the source sequences of your multi cam setup.

    So essentially, double nesting.

    But that should do it.

Since it’s a music vid…you can just put your final audio in the top level multicam destination edit.
