AE7 OsX problems
I have a major problems with getting AE7 to work in OSX. I have installed it to G5 dual 2ghz OSX 10.3.x, Powerbook 1.33ghz OSX 10.4.6, Powerbook 1.5ghz 10.3.x, Macbook Pro 2.13ghz 10.4.6 and Quad G5 10.4.6.
The Quad is only computer where it works. In all other computers the installer gives this error: “An error occured during the installation process: 351”. In installs normally after that error, but when trying to start the program it loads couple of seconds and then crashes without error.

but with no luck.Any advice welcomed.

First off standardize the system that will make your life easier…
next the mac book won’t run AE7 very well since Adobe has not released intel versions of their software yet…
as to the other problems make sure that you repair disc permissions before you install.. if you have previous versions of the software get rid of them…
try that and see what happens..

What do you mean with “standardize the system”?
If you mean different osx versions, that is becouse AE 6.5 in 10.4.x dont support keykommands in Finnish keyboard. In our new computers there is only 10.4.x so that is one of the reasons to move to AE7.
I’m well aware that AE is not released as universal binary and it will run under Rosetta, but it will still run better than in 1.33ghz Powerbook. At least photoshop does.
Repairing keycommands is tested as is trying to install and run in safe-mode.

Thats what I mean move all the computers to 10.4.6 and then run AE7…. get rid of AE6.5…
And how well things run under rosetta is a matter of how complex your projects are, so whether the macbook will do better all depends on the complexity of your projects… not on the Ghz rating…

Getting rid of 6.5 is not a good idea since 7 is not working and we need to get the jobs done 😉 I mean that 7 is not working even if the 6.5 is never installed in the machine. With Macbook pro i can allways install 7 to a winxp, but still need to get it workin on the other G5 and powerbooks.

did you try the adobe tip “install from a new user account” ?
Worked for a colleague of mine who was unable to install it.

Keep AE6 and 6.5, for sure.
I am running AE7 on a last gen non-core dual 2.7 G5. It is kinda clunky compared to 6.5 on the same machine but I have very few problems.
