  Adding Compressor/Limiter slow playback

  We’re testing the transition from FCP7 to Premiere.
  Our workflow right now consists of writers stringing out shows in FCP7.
  We convert to Premiere via XML.
  Everything good so far.

  In Premiere, we checker board our audio(mics) and add a normalization gain and compressor limiter filter.
  What I’m finding is all is good after the normalization gain add but once I add the compressor/limiter filter, the project bogs down considerably.
  When I hit play, it takes about 10 seconds for the playhead to roll.

  Any thoughts?

  Menu > Sequence > Render Audio

  If that isn’t a solution then are you going through an output card like an Aja or Blackmagic? They routinely are the cause to playback delay.
