Spoken word over music – filter to lower the music down
Hi folks, I’m currently editing a video in which I have a music track throughout the whole lenght of the video. There is also a good few short speeches. I’m wondering if Premiere has any filters that will bring the music down to a certain level for the speech part and bring it back up when the voice is gone? At the moment I’m doing it manually with keyframes, but it’s a bit of a pain, and I’m sure I heard there is a filter for it, but I just can’t find it on Google.

Well, I can’t see a way to route audio from another track (the v/o) into an audio compressor on the music track to trigger compression … hmmm. (So even installing something like Reaper’s free compressor wouldn’t help …) You’d think that would be possible without going out to Auditio …
