Edit suggestion of boring static interview with no B cut source available
I need some clever suggestions for editing a boring static interview where the subject is sitting facing one cam. I need to cut a 2 min video out of the 15 min interview and i have no B roll sources available at all.
So basically, what are some of your preferred techniques for masking jump cut when you have no B roll available ??

Cut the interview clip up and scale up the footage for a bit, then go back. Cut at points where you either have to cut (chopping out words), or where you want to add emphasis to what they are saying.
Next time, ask that they shoot at least two cameras….or get b-roll

You could try using stock footage, if it is relevant. I’ve used Shutterstock.com or videoblocks.com in the past.

Something I’ve done before is put film flares or some other type of overlay like that one it, it kind of helps explain the jumpcut and makes it feel more natural. Realize though that not every client will like that.
