Scrubbing frame by frame in timeline
Hey all,
Switcher here from FCP7/X. How can one scrub frame by frame in the timeline without the mouse? In any other NLE all one needs to do is use the left or right arrows. In Premiere, when you do that nothing happens. This seems like something that is so simple. Does something need to be enabled prefs?

YOu need to make they keyboard layout match that of FCP. Under the Premiere Pro Menu, choose KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS. In there click on KEYBOARD LAYOUT PRESETS and choose FCP. Then the keyboard will mimic what you have in FCP.

If you have a Shuttle Pro (Contour Design) scrubbing is a breeze using the shuttle knob. Other buttons can also be customized.

Left and right arrow keys should do exactly this when the timeline panel is active, which is indicated as a gold outline. Click the timeline or hit Shift+3.
Arrow keys also work in the source monitor when that is active (Shift+2).

I tried all of the above and it doesn’t seem to respond.
The timecode will move when hitting left/right arrows but the actual timeline indicator stays still. It’s bizarre. I’m running CC. Is this a bug?

Try trashing the preferences (Shift+Option on boot-up).
