  Offline to online problem in Premiere

  Hi there!

  I’m editing a pilot for a movie, and I’ve come across a problem I seem unable to solve. I’ve edited smaller rushes from original RED footage, and I want to convert it to the original hi-res footage. I can do this easily by simply replacing the rushes with the original files, because they have the same name and timecode. It’s when I try to relink a clip that has been used several times that this problem occurs. The post house that sent me the material named those clips as following:

  A004_C008_1102HK_001
  A004_C008_1102HK_002
  A004_C008_1102HK_003

  As they appear more than once. The problem is that the clips on the timeline all have the same name (A004_C008_1102HK), and not the _00X extension, which makes me unable to relink all three at once. I can relink one of the clips by pointing towards the A004_C008_1102HK clip.

  I’m sure there is a solution to this, and I would be really happy if someone could tell me how to do it 🙂

  Use replace footage for the 2 other instances, and point to the original clip.

  Redcine X Pro is also a pretty useful tool in linking RED stuff.
