  CUDA + Set Matte = Glitches

  Not sure if anyone else has run into this, but on my machine, the Set Matte effect yields wild inconsistent results when CUDA is enabled.

  I’m using a Quadro 4000 for Mac.
  CUDA Driver Version: 5.5.28
  GPU Driver Version: 1.3.4.0 (295.00.05f02)
  Installed on a Mac Pro Early 2009 with 2×2.26 GHZ Quad-Core Intel Xeons

  Here’s how to reproduce it:
  1. Create new 1080 30P prores sequence with at least 3 video layers, make sure CUDA is enabled
  2. Add prores footage on V1
  3. Add full screen prores file to V2
  4. Add Set Matte Effect to V2 and check “invert Matte”
  5. Set Matte effect should reference V3
  6. Add a text object to V3
  7. Select all, copy, move to end of timeline and then paste
  8. Change the second piece of text in V3 to something else, resulting in 2 different pieces of text in V3

  On playback, the Set Matte effect bounces between both pieces of text creating a weird glitchy effect. This is ONLY an issue when CUDA is enabled. Software only mode does not produce this effect.

  I’ve submitted a report to Adobe, but wanted to see if anyone else has run into this. At the very least I can still use Software mode, but it kind of defeats the point of my $800 graphics card, on this project anyways.
