Got this late last night from Adobe. It works.

    Hi-,

Here is a work around for you to avoid the crash. Hope it work well.
    On Mac:
    Go to folder /Users/Shared.
Ensure that “Adobe/Prelude/2.0” is created under the “Shared” folder.
    On Win:
    Go to folder /Users/Public/Public Documents.
Ensure that “Adobe/Prelude/2.0” is created under the “Public Documents” folder.

    Best,
    Lin

A few days ago I downloaded the trial version of Prelude CC and Premiere Pro CC because I needed to log a lot of RED footage and see my work in Premiere. (Prelude CS6 can’t work with RED.)

I created several projects and logged the footage. Now when I try to open the same Prelude CC projects I did the logging in (same computer; same drive configuration, the projects, as I double click on a clip to open it and see my log comments, Prelude CC crashes.

I’m having a similar problem with Premiere Pro CC projects created around the same time, but they won’t even load—I just get a “serious error” message and Premiere locks up.

Is this a licensing or version issue? (I still have the CS6 versions of both programs on the machine I’ve been using for this.) Could that be the problem? Also, I’m still on the free trial version of these programs as I’m trying them out with what had the been the plan of moving our entire imaging lab here at UMBC to the Creative Cloud. But not if this can’t be fixed–I’ve lost tons of work!

Very glad you got a workaround, Paul. Looks like a fix is in progress. Thanks again for filing bugs and posting about your issue.

    Cheers,
    Kevin

The fix did not work for me. The 2.0 folder under “Shared” was already there.

This only affected my MacBook Pro. No problems on a new iMac.
