  • Gang source and program monitor issue

    Hello,

i am pretty new to premiere. As in Avid or FCP when i gang he source and program monitor, scrubbing to the timeline the source monitor will update it’s source. In premierre the srubbing is synced, but when moving the the next clip the clip the source monitor does not update. Do I mis something?

What i need to do is adjust the scale of many clips individually. The edit is done, from the timeline playhead i wish to lead the source clip and adjust scale per clip.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Ronald

    Hiya…

So your edit is done. now you need to adjust scale of clips in the edit?

Why does this require ganging? and when you gang, what’s loaded in the source monitor?

I’d just scrub through the timeline with the effects controls panel open in the source monitor. When you get to a clip you need to adjust in the edit, select it. This will change the context of the effects controls in the source viewer to the selected clip allowing you to adjust its parameters.

    What am I missing?

    If it helps…

go to you keyboard shortcuts and search for ‘Select Next Clip’

that way you can select the next clip from the keyboard and make adjustments in the effects controls w/o having to click on it in the sequence….

The basic step selecting which i do not like to do. I have a 30 inch screen, in my top left corner my effects would be. In the down side of mu screen the time will be there. Let say as it works in avid of fcp i press play bar, or JKL, or key board shortcut next clip, then in the vieuwer the next clip will be updated and i will be ready to make changes. It is a matter of working with keyboard and mouse. Moving back from the viewer to the timeline to select the clip and then moving back to the viewer to make the scale change is a lot more work. I wish when my time line indicator is above a new clip this will be automatically loaded in the viewer

As a said, both Avid an fcp have this possibility.

    Works!
I thought i did not work because the image was not updated in the viewer. But working in the motion panel it works! Thanks
