Is anyone encountering random red flashes upon export from PPro/Media encoder? This started happening just a couple days ago. They do not appear in playback in sequences but once exported, they start happening sparsely but randomly. no rhyme or reason. Exporting in 1080p h.264 mp4 codec. At first I was wondering if it had something to do with mattes and overlays in the timeline.. but not sure.. I’m going to try exporting from PPRO and bipassing media encoder and see what happens.

ok.. I did a more extensive search on the Cow and a suggestion was to not use “render at maximum depth” option when encoding. that seems to have helped but not sure why it started happening all of a sudden… still thinking it’s because I have talent on layer 2 over a white matte on layer 1. Masking out portions of the talent over white and repositioning on screen… thinking this might be at the heart of the issue…

    Hi Brian,

We are taking this issue very very seriously. We have verified it and are doing final testing on a fix. The issue is related to ProRes import on 10.8 or 10.9 and a timeout issue. We should hopefully have a fix for you soon.

    Cheers

    Dave

Thanks David! Now that I have your ear….. Hey can you guys build in a feature where, like in AE, PPro will allow you to select multiple layered clips in a timeline and be able to select all of them and adjust position on all simultaneously without nesting? … or if not, make it so when in a nest or in the main sequence, like in AE, an adjustment layer can be assigned to specific clips in a layer? For example, If I create a nest or work in the main sequence, my adjustment layer effects everything. There are instances when I would like to omit one or two clips in a layer and adjust just the ones I want. – Thanks.
