  • control of fields display via AJA Kona

I have an interlace project (1080 50i to be precise). Using Premiere CC 7.0.1 with an AJA Kona 3 Win driver 10.4.0 and AJA Adobe Win 10.4.0.

When advancing thru footage I can select Display First Field / Display Second Field / Display Both Fields from the fields menu. On the computer monitor I see the appropriate difference. But on the AJA it always seems to show both fields.

Is this a Premiere or AJA issue? Is there anyway to have the AJA follow the application UI?

    Thanks,

    Jef

    Jef,
You can toggle the displaying of fields in the Program monitor’s panel menu. Check it out.

    Thanks,
    Kevin

    Hi Kevin,

That is what I believe I am doing. And as I noted in my post, I only see the difference on the computer monitor, not the broadcast monitor fed by the AJA Kona 3 IO.

    Thanks,

    Jef

    Jef,
This sounds like it could be set up wrong in the AJA control panel. I would contact AJA support on this as I do not have a Kona card to test with. They have remarkable customer service. I swear by ’em.

    Thanks,
    Kevin

Make sure your sequence is I upper field and set the Kona prefs in premiere to match sequence settings.

    Hi Chris,

I am using the DNX 220x 1080i preset. My Preferences > Playback setting is Kona 3-0 > Match Sequence.

Are you seeing any different behavior than I describe?

    Thanks,

    Jef
