  • Only Audio Files Offline, Can’t Link

I’ve had this problem a couple of times, it’s driving me crazy.

I un-linked some audio clips from their video counterparts (these were .mov files shot on-camera) and extended them longer than their video clip counterparts in the timeline (this was for a wedding I’m editing, because I wanted the special music I recorded on-camera to play throughout certain parts of the ceremony). However, I opened up my project this morning and the audio which I had detached is all offline. When I right-click and select “reveal in project” it shows the video clip in the bin, still online. This happened after I cut and pasted a sequence from an autosave file into my working project. However, it didn’t show up until I re-opened the project.

The video files are all online, and there is no way to link the offline audio (I’ve tried making the clip offline, then linking it).

Does anyone have a solution? I solved it in the past by selecting the clip, hitting the “f”- key to open it up in the viewer and re-adding the audio over top of the clips. This is really time consuming and I lose all my audio keyframes. Help!
