Exporting a targa sequence with no alpha channel
Hi all,
The production switcher I’m using takes in animations as Targa sequences. If the animation has a targa it takes double the amount of memory to run the animation and is very slow to load so I’ve taken the sequences I’m using, rebuilt them in premiere with a chromakey hole instead of a targa sequence but I cannot seem to find a way to export the new sequence with no alpha channel. Does anyone know how to turn off the Alpha when exporting? It is an option in Photoshop with targa files, I’m not sure why it isn’t or is so hard to find in premiere if it is there.

I’m not sure that Premiere or Media Encoder offer that control.
After Effects does: you could Dynamic Link your sequence into Ae, then render to a Targa sequence from there. Be sure to choose “24 bits/pixel” in the Format Options within the Ae output module for RGB only.

Nope. Didn’t work. Premiere just generates a full-screen alpha channel.

OK. I’ll try it. I don’t know AE very well at all so hopefully the export from AE is a simple process.
