  Can’t get rid of flickering

  Hello,

  I’m having a problem in Adobe Premiere. I can’t seem to get rid of flickering when I export the video in H.264 1920×1080. The result video consists of a FULL HD video, an HD ready video and an Ae composition (solid) in FULL HD. The result video always has a lot of flickering going on in it.

  I’ve tried changing the settings and while I couldn’t completely get rid of flickering, I did lower it a little.

  Here’s a list of changes:

  1) Turned Anti-flicker on on all affected layers (I have set it to 1) = Flickering reduced but not completely. It’s quite interesting but only the horizontal edges were flickering, the vertical ones have gotten pretty much solved. But even the insides of the solid (not the edges) are still flickering a little.

  2) Tried to mess around with the bitrate = I have tried lowering it but it only got worse (the flickering was probably the same but the quality got worse).

  3) Tried applying gaussian blur = I’ve set it to 6 (so that the image would still be sharp) but it didn’t help at all.

  I know a lot of people use Premiere and post videos on Youtube and most of them don’t even have a sign of flickering in their videos. Is there any way to lower it by setting the export settings differently?

  OK, looks like I got it.

  I’m not sure what did the trick but what I did was setting the field options to anti flickering. I did it for the solid and it really stopped flickering. The other thing was that I have set the fps to 29.97. The 720p footage still flickers a little but then again, can it be because of a 720p video being in a FULL HD one (its scale is a little higher but it still covers only a part of the 1920×1080 result video.)
