Hello everyone, I hope you’re all safe.

Not so long ago a relative of mine passed away leaving behind many files on his family’s computer. His mother asked me to look through his old projects and try to export them.

I found a bunch of files created by Adobe Premiere (CS3 I believe). They were all grouped up in the same folder. The files are:

    Adobe Premiere pro Auto-Save
    Adobe Premiere pro Preview Files
    Encoded Files
    Media Cache Files

Along with a file containing all the rushes, there were three .prproj files. It seems like the mother gathered all of them in one file.

When I try to open one of the projects, I get the following error message ” The project could not be loaded. It may be damaged or contain outdated elements”

The family is almost certain he used CS3 to edit, the project was edited sometime in 2011. Any ideas how we can bring these projects back to life? Should I put the folders back in other locations for them to be read properly?

All and any tips are very welcome.

Thank you so much in advance.

What version of Premiere are you using to open the project with? Try making an empty project and importing the old project file.
