  DNxHD MXFOP1s files from Premiere CC won’t open in Avid

  I just mastered a project out as 1080p 25fps 8-bit 36Mbps DNxHD MXF for my client who has Media Composer Nitrix DS 6.5.3 and he said that the file wouldn’t open and it said something about incompatible formats or some such. Can someone test this on an Avid or is there some Avid importing trick he’s missing?

  I asked for the full error dialog so I’ll get that later.

  He needs to treat it EXACTLY like Avid media. You don’t import it. Make a new numbered file in the AvidMedia Files>MXF folder. Then open Avid, have it make a database file in that folder. Drag that .db file into an empty bin…the clip will be in the bin. Or use the MEDIA TOOL to find it…but this way is quicker.
