  Frozen video playback, audio works

  So I go back and forth between programs very often – whenever I switch away from Premiere, then come right back to it (within 30 seconds), the playback always freezes for at least 30 seconds. I can scrub the audio, the playhead moves, but the video is frozen on the last frame I was on.
  Finally, it catches up and begins to play relatively smoothly. As soon as I need to check something in text edit and come right back – I’ve got to wait while it lags.
  Any ideas? I’m a FCP guy, brand new to Premiere and this has got me frustrated… thx
