I have an opportunity to get a Kona3G for a great price.

I won’t have access to an AES to Analog audio adapter for awhile.

This one doesn’t have the breakout box, so I can’t use the analog
audio out on that. My mixer console does not have AES inputs. (in this suite)

Is it possible to use the MAC audio line output to monitor the
editing in CS6? Will it be out of sync?

Yes, you can use the audio line out to monitor audio and output the 3 to a monitor. I did this for years. Obviously you’d want the audio and monitor the be off the same deck, but sometimes you just have to make things work. I think you can even get the break out box for pretty cheap now anyway, so if/when the time comes, just upgrade. The Kona 3 works fine and if you have everything set up properly, there shouldn’t be any lag.

Thanks Tim. I will be getting a converter, just not immediately.
