  • Keyboard Shortcut for Transform Position

Switching from FCP and loving most of it, except I have to keep mousing over to the transform button. Isn’t there a shortcut?
I did try by opening up the Keyboard Shortcuts but the only “Position” is under “Title” and definitely doesn’t let me move a clip in the viewer.

    THANKS

You can double click into the program viewer. This will show up the wireframe for the clip. Works well if you have only one clip at a time. If there are multiple clips stacked in multiple tracks, it becomes difficult because you always select the highest clip in order.

sorry, i think i misunderstood your question. In cs6 there is no shortcut for moving clips in the program monitor. In Premiere pro cc these shortcuts were added by simply using the arrow keys.

Hmmm. If I have to move a clip across the screen, I can only use the arrow keys? I still think I need to drag the mouse all the way over to the transform tool button to activate it. Isn’t there a shortcut to get into transform mode?

The arrow key option is Premiere Pro CC only, not CS6.
There is no shortcut for selecting e.g. Motion in the Effect Controls Window.
If its the top clip you can select the clip by double clicking in the Program Window. Is it a clip that is below the top clip, you will have to select the clip on the timeline and then hit the tranform icon in the ECW. Then a boudingbox appears and you can drag the clip around.

A little OT here but since you are talking about PP CC keyboard shortcuts, I am just getting into PP and am looking to order a PP keyboard for my mac. Should I wait till after PPCC is released? Will it make a difference in the standard shortcuts at all?

    Any advice is appreciated.
