Video stutter
I added this port to After Effects forum but perhaps it is better suited here?
I have a video which consist of various panning shots. During editing and after exporting, I can play back on my 6 core 2.66 GHz 12GB 1333MHz DDR3 Mac with no problems. However, when I take the same export and trying to play back on a laptop or try to stream, the panning shots stutter – especially playing back with full screen.
It is apparent that there is a issue with the redrawing, because everything on the screen is moving. I cannot seem to remedy the issue without seriously affecting the picture quality. I have tried exporting using many differently settings but no dice. Also tried the Warp Stabilizer.
If anyone has any suggestions, I would be grateful!

Are you exporting out of AE through the render que or using AME to export your video? What CODEC are you exporting to? What are your bitrate settings ect.
It is really hard to suggest anything without knowing specifics.

I am actually exporting through Premier Pro CS6. I made a copy of this post over to that forum, as it pertained more to that product, and could not immediate remove this post.
However, I did try AE Warp Stabilizer to try help the situation but it doesn’t help the situation since we’re talking about camera jitters.
The video format is h.264, 1280×720 resolution, 29.97 frame rate, NTSC. Bitrate is set to 24Mbps for the target and 30Mbps max.
I also tried using maximum render quality and frame blending, but no luck with that, either.
FYI – Issue seems to be at worst during streaming from our Kaltura media server.

Your bitrate is set too High. Your server cannot keep up with that. For web streaming you will only need a bitrate of 8Mbs max.
I would try experimenting with lower bitrates until you find the sweet spot between bit rate, quality and file size.

Strange, when I went to check it the first time, that what it read – which my thought was the same as yours. However, after doing a minor mod, I went to export is again and this time it readt 5Mbps for both target and max.

How long is your video? If it is relatively short there is no reason to use VBR. Use CBR instead.
