CS6 won’t export Quicktime….
I had this happen once before, can’t remember how it fixed itself.
I have a simple timeline about 3 minutes long. 1080i avc hd sequence.
I can export any other format fine, but when i choose quicktime,
and then do the export it just hangs at zero percent.same for sending to queue.
I have tried:
repair permissions, deleting preferences, rebooting.
nothing seems to solve it.Running Mac CS6.1

I had similar problems with my HP Z820 running 32 Hyper threads. qt32serve wont run with over 20 HT being active. Im not sure that this issue is similar to what you are experiencing.

I don’t believe so. I’m on the MAC version.
Some days it’s there, some days not.
Would like to solve and document it in this post.

You didnt mention if you tried uninstalling and reinstalling QuickTime.

How would you do that on Snow Leopard?
Just delete the quicktime 7.app and the preferences, then copy
it back over from the snow leopard disc? -
Ha, thats a good question.Ive been on a PC for 6 months and that where the suggestions came from.

I’m running an older Z800 system with 24 threads and I have no issues exporting QuickTime, so it isn’t the thread count specifically.

My experience and this Adobe bulletin seems to indicate that amount of PC processor hyper threads is an issue.

When I follow Adobes suggestion or use this other approach the problem clears up.

Those QuickTime alerts seem to be H264 specific…I’m not sure why you would you export H264 via QuickTime on a Windows (or even a Mac) system.
Adobe’s native H264 exporter is far more efficient, and QuickTime plays a standard (and more versatile) mp4 wrapped file without issue as far as I can tell…why put yourself through that to simply get a “mov” wrapper?
Is there some specific difference?

My experience was I was unable to export ANY QuickTime files on the Z820 running Win 7 PC (this inability affected CS6, and other software as well) until I shut down only 20 processor threads . Then I was able to export any QT wrapped media with no problem. Several folks have responded saying this has helped them as well.
