  How to Edit and export a video that is 1280×720 in Premiere Pro CS6?

  I am trying to put together a video that has three separate segments that are 1280×720. Is there a way to still have the end video be 1280×720? All videos are in the .avi format

  I just want to know how to set it up so that I can keep, edit and export the whole video in a 1280×720 format.

  I’m guessing you’re new to Premiere Pro and/or editing in general?

  Real simply:
  (1) Import footage into PPro (you can simply drag-and-drop it into a project)
  (2) Right click on the clip and choose “New Sequence from Clip” – this will create a timeline with the exact resolution and frame rate of the footage you just imported
  (3) Edit your footage on the timeline
  (4) Export your movie and tick off the box in the export dialog window that says “Match sequence settings” – this will export a video using the same resolution frame rate of your sequence.

  Unless he’s using an anamorphic original which means his sequence will be anamorphic which means his export will be anamorphic. While most video players will stretch it back out to proper square pixels, not all of them will and then you end up with “squished video.”

  This is why we start with AVC Intra 100 presets which ensure that we have square pixel timelines.

  So in this case you would choose AVC Intra 100 / 720p60 (or 24 if you’d like)

  Then when you add the first piece of footage tell Premiere to “Keep Sequence Settings” and edit away.

  Then when you export the exported file will still have the same square pixels no matter what size you make it.

  Ensure the output is set to avi and you should be good to go. adjust the data rate to suit your end needs.
