    Hi Everyone,
    I have some footage in an outside location. unfortunately is next to the akeshore so there was allot of wind. I used a zoom recorder but still some wind was caught on the audio. I;m trying to use Highpass effect but then the audio of the voices get distorted. Any help??

    The best thing to always do in a windy situation is to use a Dead Cat wind filter on any device. But it’s too late for that, so you might want to try sampling the Noise Floor, then removing that from the audio. Just a warning, the audio spectrum of wind is so varied and wide that it’s next to impossible to remove. Good luck…

    I’m not an expert in wind removal, but I did have an outdoor wedding plagued by wind noise and in Adobe Audition, I applied a multi-band equalizer and then while playing the audio, I moved the sliders one at a time until I found the frequency that greatly reduced the wind noise. Actually worked pretty well without much change to vocals.

    I just watched a video and read some NAB hype about the upcoming version of Audition, and in it, they specifically mentioned that it will contain the technology to remove broadband noise, which wind noise is…while it doesn’t help at the moment, it will be an ability to solve a problem which has plagued all of us at some point…
