  following day effect

  Hi,
  I’m new to editing, and right now I’m editing a short film. It takes place through the course of three days . I was wondering what are good transitions or effects you can use to show that it;s the following day. ex. night to day time lapse. I would really appreciate any help. Thank you so much.

  You could do a timelapse of a clock or any number of things. In the language of editing, a crossfade usually denotes a large jump in time, location, or theme.

  Instead of a timelapse you could do a crossfade between two different times on a clock or a crossfade from a day to a night establishing shot.
