  Navigating, cutting and snapping on timeline

  Hi –
  When navigating between edits in Final Cut Pro I just used the arrow left/right. This does not work in Premiere. also, on final cut, you can split everything under the header with a keyboard shortcut (opt+V in FCP) but this also seems to not be available in premiere.

  also, my snap option is turned on, but the blade tool does not snap to the play head.

  1. Menu > Edit > Keyboard shortcuts. Next/Prev clip is up and down, you can change this to your liking and even search within keyboard shortcuts to find other things to customize.

  2. This is called add edit Ctrl+K by default (option+K on the Mac I suppose), you can customize this. It will only cut active lanes on the timeline.

  3. The razorblade will cut on the playhead if your cursor is within reasonable distance (3-4 millimeters, so if you get it on the playhead position roughly, Premiere knows what you want). There will be no physical snapping of your cursor.

  Correct answers. One thing to number 2: A lot of FCP switchers expect Match Frame and Add Edits to work on selected clips, as well as selected tracks. That is not the case in Premiere Pro, track selection guides both these things. If you want Match Frame and Add Edit to work on selected clips, regardless of track selection, please make a feature request: https://www.adobe.com/go/wish
