  4;3 footage to 16;9 movie

  Hi everyone, I’m about to make a home movie,I have 4;3 footage that I really need to use,but most of the video will be 16;9 footage. Can you tell me the best way to add the 4;3 footage to my movie, either convert it to 16;9 by stretching the 4;3 footage,but my efforts of trying that isn’t very impressive at all.Is there a better way. Can you give me some advice. Thanks

  In these cases I put the 4:3 footage as 4:3 in the 16:9 project.

  Thanks for your responds Phocas Kroon,the reason i don’t want to simple add the footage as 4:3 is, I don’t like the black side bars on each side of the video when its played on a screen ,which i’m sure you know what i’m talking about.

  To fill the black bars you can put a copy of the clip in the timeline below the original clip.
  Zoom the copy till he fills the 16:9 room.
  Put some blur on it.
  The original clip is still 3:4 but the black bars are showing now parts of the copy.
