Frustrated with Premiere CS6 Quicktime export

None of our workstations can export any Quicktime codec from Premiere CS6! I’ve tried reinstalling and renaming quicktime file extensions and everytime Media Encoder crashes at 0%!

CS5.5 exports just fine, but it’s hell to transfer an 80 gig project to another workstation to export a Quicktime. Oh yeah, how come After Effects CS6 can export quicktimes just fine? If anyone has solved this issue. Please let me know!

Thanks Tom. This workstation in particular has 32 processors for speedy After Effects rendering. Wouldn’t lowering this down to 21 reduce the power of the workstation?

Yes. I have a similar machine, the HP Z820 has 2 processors – 8 threads and 32 hyper threads.

I dont like the idea of crippling my machine by reducing threads to accommodate old time software like qt32 server.

But I did try it. The project was a music video, and even though I could create a QT DNxHD or H.264 file. the audio was 2 frames out of sync. And that really screws up the cuts in a music piece. So it doesnt really work for me.

Gave it a try and still have the same issue. This is definitely a bug with Premiere, other lower end workstation with CS6 can’t export a Quicktime either.

Interesting, it worked for me. I accessed msconfig and in the boot section told it just 20 processors. Then exported both a DNxHD and H.264 QT file. Works for other editors I know as well.

Or maybe it’s a quicktime bug but Apple probably has no interest in fixing it.
