CS 6.x and AVCHD Spanned Clips and Mac OS 10.8 – Still a problem?
A while back (June 3, 2012) I posted a question in the Adobe Premiere Pro forums about problems with Premiere Pro CS 6 handling spanned AVCHD clips. Premiere Pro CS 5.5.2 handles these perfectly. I never seemed to get an appropriate or official response, other from some helpful members that it wasn’t fixed. Today Kevin Monahan (of Adobe) posted (I”m paraphrasing) that they are aware of the problem and are working hard on it. (I think that is what he said, it was a bit cryptic)
Since much of what I use Premiere Pro for is to handle AVCHD natively and I do a lot of ‘set the camcorder running and forget it’ for interviews and other uses, I was wondering if anybody has experience with this at this point? I use several low to high end Sony and Panasonic camcorders and Panasonics that use AVCHD with spanned clips.
If this is really still the case after 9 months or so, I still cannot upgrade to CS 6, and that is a shame. Please tell me I’m wrong and that spanned AVCHD clips do in fact work Premiere Pro CS6. Thanks much!
