which NLE allows you to assign the most keyboard shortcuts???
I’ve always worked fastest with keyboard shortcuts when editing and always prefer to avoid using the mouse. Coming from FCP7, I’m trying to determine whether to use PP CS6 or not for my next feature.
I’m about to begin editing a long format documentary (90-min or so) and I’m curious to know which NLE has the most keyboard assignable shortcuts.
I love the new interface of PP CS6, but I’ve found some crucial keyboard shortcuts lacking:
• video key framing (I’ll be using a lot of stills that I will need to animate (zooms/pans), so having keyboard shortcuts to add, move, and jump from one keyframe to another is critical.
• audio key framing – exact same needs.
• navigating across hundreds of files (video, audio, stills) that will be used in the long format doc-film. Keyboard shortcuts for drilling down and up through folders would also be crucialWould very much appreciate any feedback/advice as to which NLE offers the most keyboard shortcuts or allows you the most freedom for assigning such shortcuts.
I know I should have posted this in a general NLE topics forum but I couldn’t find one here on creative cow, so figured I would post it in the PPCS6 section since I’m currently using it now.

Video and audio keyframes, no. There is no keyboard shortcuts but you can, in the effects panel, move from key frame to keyframe by clicking the prev/next keyframe arrows. It’s a mouse move, but at least it’s better than no command.
Edit > Keyboard shortcuts is your friend in terms of looking at how you can improve your navigation of the program.
The project bin has an awesome set of keyboard shortcuts, the only one that isn’t set is “Open in Source Monitor” which I set to ctrl+Enter. Otherwise you can navigate the panel with your arrow keys (left/right will expand and close bins) and move around renaming files and filling out log info with enter and tab, etc. You can also play previews of files right in the bin or use hover scrub with the mouse.

Hi Angelo,
Don’t know why but “option+enter” doesn’t work on my macbook pro retina when I assign it to “open in source monitor”. Every other keyboard shortcut works but that command “open in source monitor”

Make feature requests. Adobe has been open about doing .5 releases once a year so you’ll probably see a substantial update hit 2nd quarter 2013 (always seems to be around May).
