Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 Audio- and Video Problems
Hello guys,
as the title says, I´m experiencing a series of problems with Adobe. I converted the video file of a Blu-Ray into .avi and imported that into Adobe Premiere Pro. When i drag that file into the timeline and play it, audio and video are in sync for the first 3-5 seconds. After that, the audio gets out of sync and the longer i let it play, the more out of sync it gets. When I skip to another part of the video, its the same thing again: The first 3-5 seconds are in sync, then it gets out of sync. Now I have solved that problem by installing the K-Light Codec Mega Pack, but that created another problem: I have huge image errors when i play it in Adobe (the image in the preview window judders, gets pixelated, etc). At first, I thought that only happens in the preview-window, but after I exported a little sequence just to check, the image errors were also present in the final video. Does anyone know how to fix that issue? -

Adobe says to never install K Lite codecs since it really screws things up.
When asking a question on thePremiere user-to-user forums, you can make it easier for folks to help you by proactively providing the answers to the following questions:
What version of Premiere? Include the minor version number (e.g., PrPCS5.5 with the 10.5.1 update).
Have you installed the recent updates? (If not, you should. They fix a lot of problems.)
What operating system? This should include specific minor version numbers, like “Mac OSX v10.6.8”—not just “Mac”.
What kind(s) of source footage? When telling about your source footage, tell us about the codecs, not just the container types. For example, “H.264 in a .mov container”, not just “QuickTime”.
If you are getting error message(s), what is the full text of the error message(s)?
What were you doing when the problem occurred?
Has this ever worked before?
What other software are you running?
Do you have any third-party effects or codecs installed?
Tell us about your computer hardware. Include CPU type and number of processor cores, amount of RAM installed, GPU, number of disk drives, and how any external drives are connected.
Do you have any third-party I/O hardware (e.g., AJA, Matrox, Blackmagic, MOTU)?
Are you using OpenGL features in After Effects?
Does the problem only happen with your final output, RAM preview, or both?
Are you using Render Multiple Frames Simultaneously multiprocessing?
What is the exact sequence of steps that you are taking?Screenshots and sample movies are often very useful in showing exactly what you’re seeing, and can thus make getting an answer faster and easier.

I´ve formated and don´t have the K-Light Codec installed anymore. So here are the specs:
Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 version 6.0.3
Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit
Source footage: AVI
I don´t get any error message. The audio just gets out of sync. I just dragged the AVI-File into the timeline and clicked on play. That´s when I noticed it. I didn´t have any other software running – apart from a browser and some instant-messaging programs.
I don´t have any third-party codecs installed.
My computer hardware:
AsRock 890GX Extreme3
8192MB RAM DDR3-1333
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5850
AMD Phenom 2 X6 1055T @ 4.0 Ghz
Creative X-FI Xtreme Gamer
1 Blu-Ray disk drive, 4 external harddrives
I don´t have After Effects installed and yes, that problem also happens in the final output.
My series of steps is: Opening Adobe Premiere Pro CS6, importing the .avi-file, dragging it into the timeline and hitting the play-button. -

AVI is just the wrapper. What kind of media / codec is being wrapped by AVI?

Thats is a very long HD clip. What kind of raid array are you storing and playing that media back from?

Is that a hard drive? It´s located on a 2TB 3.5 inch external hard drive from Western Digital.

Is your hard drive USB 2?

Yes it is

Generally, USB 2 drives are not fast enough to edit from. It also has something to do with the way it sends data, in spurts instead of a steady stream. On Macs we use Firewire 800 drives. I am not sure how a USB 3 drive would work, someone else may have experience with those drives.
Are you having problems with render being out of sync?

Consider converting your footage to an intra-frame codec instead of MPEG4 as a test to see if it holds AV sync. If you’re unfamiliar with what to try, I’d suggest starting with Panasonic P2 as an i-frame codec that might give you the results you’re after.
Don’t convert the whole thing to start BTW – just enough to know whether you’re drifting or not.
