Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 Audio- and Video Problems

I´m starting to give it up right about now. I´ve worked with Sony Vegas so far and didn´t have that kind of problems. Now I wanted to try out Adobe Premiere Pro and it can´t even get a simple .avi to work properly. I´ve imported the very same video file into Sony Vegas and it plays it perfectly – video and audio in sync, exactly how it should be.

Well, an .AVI is a container and not a codec so saying a simple .avi is not necessarily so. An .avi could contain any number of codecs which could be the problem.

I’ve also thought of one other possibility about why you’re having the problem. If you launch Premiere Pro CS6 and then drag the clip into a timeline, do you see a little progress bar on the lower right hand side of Premiere Pro beneath the timeline? If so, then you should wait for that to finish and see if you still have the problems. Premiere Pro will conform the audio if it doesn’t understand the format or sample rate in order to make sure we have a sample accurate audio lock as well as giving us a map to generate an accurate waveform file. For a 2hr plus length clip, this might take several minutes to complete and could be the reason why you’re having these temporary sync issues. Then again, maybe not – but it’s worth a try.

Adobe Media Encoder which comes with Premiere Pro. Launch it then choose file>Add. Then pick the format of P2 and then what preset you want. you can also create watch folders and encode Premiere Pro sequences and After Effects comps. It all works in teh background too.

Thanks, I will try it out with the Media Encoder. I had noticed that progress bar and waited for it to finish, but it didn´t help. The codec of the .avi-file is mpeg-4 (doec id mp42)

Hi,

I made an h264 23,976fps export. it’s fine except at some points where i used 50p footage. i used interpret footage to slow it down and then i sped it up at 204%. Video and audio is perfectly synchronized within premiere pro but at the export i made using media encoder cs6 it is unsynchronized.

I am having a very annoying problem with Adobe Premiere Pro CS 6 (PP). Everything works flawlessly on PP EXCEPT the timeline video playback (sequence composite video playback). When I play the footage in my timeline, I hear the audio but the video DOES NOT show up. [SEE ATTACHED PICTURE BELOW] I am using .MOV files coming from my Canon Mark II and Mark III. I do have some third party software installed for Adobe After Effects (Red Giant) but from my research that should not be an issue for this software. I have tried a number of fixes that I have found online:

1. Switching from GPU to Software only when starting PP also within the actual program. This worked only once and never worked again.

2. Un-installed, Re-installed, Upgraded, etc…

On my computer I have the entire Adobe Master Collection CS6 and I have no problems out of any of the other programs…as far as I can tell. I have used PP before so I know I can drag and drop into my timeline. As well as create a new sequence. I have tried a number of different ways of doing this but nothing seems to work. Could really use some help.

I am having an audio problem (in adobe premiere pro); I imported a certain video clip (which plays back perfectly in windows media player), and the audio played, but suddenly restarted in the middle of the video. This error occurs in every adobe video editing program I use the video in. (CS6)
