  Premiere pro won’t start on my new SSD.

  I tried posting this on the Adobe forums, but logging is in impossible for me. This is the error. I honestly have no idea what’s causing it, and I’m desperate because I need to edit videos ASAP. Thanks for your help!

  Did you install it fresh to your SSD or drag it from Program Files? D“id you symlink to the folder?

  Dragged the program files for premiere then installed premiere.

  No, just dragging the folder will break the installation. Drag it back to where it was and you can try to relaunch, but it may be beyond repair because of the failed launch.

  I suggest a clean install.

  Lets say you have C: which is your system drive and D: which is your SSD. I believe Adobe will attempt to install onto your system drive. If you have space let it do this.

  Once this is done. drag the installed folder to a location on your SSD. You need to create a symlink (directory symbolic link) like C:Program FilesAdobePremiere Pro CS6 that points to its new location on the D: drive. This is not a shortcut, but a symlink will make the program act like it’s installed on your C: drive.

  As to why you want to install it on an SSD, the only real performace benefit is boot time; that is, of course, unless you’re just out of disk space.
