Hi: Am looking for some recommendations on a new monitor (in the 500.00 or under price range) for editing with premiere pro – I use a sony 1080i hdv camera. Thanks so much.

Dell U2412M, https://www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm/WF05a/382087-382087-64283-72270-3884471-5163690.html?dnr=1“>HP ZR2440w are well rated for color accuracy and are within your budget.

Computer based display such as a Dell is all you’re going to get in that range. I would never use one for video output myself, but some folks have been successful with them.

We run only Flanders Scientific (FSI) in our shop. Perfectly accurate across all suites.

[walter biscardi] “I would never use one for video output myself.”

It seems Lillian asked for a monitor that is good for video editing (UI, some monitoring), not video output or critical color monitoring?

    Hello,

Hopefully you can help me out with my idea.
I do a lot of video editing and some animations from time to time. I even did mate painting on a movie.
My pc is very low end now, but im planning to upgrade next year. I use: Intel Core 2 Duo E7200, 3GB DDR2 RAM, Graphic card Nvidia 9500GT. (very low end, I know, but…)
I do some 3D modeling as well as rendering. (It takes uhhhh, but in the end it does what i need.

My question is: Is it worth buying: 2x Dell U2412M, for the price or to buy only one Dell U2413 and use it on a pc i have now and later upgrade.
Is it a huge difference in those two models when my job is in question. Will i see color differences.

    Is that make any sense?

    Thnx a lot.

P.S. I do a lot of work on a better pc’s or mac’s to be honest, but this is my home pc.
