  • Dynamically Linking AE into PP, render is bad.

I am using PP to edit video and audio and linking with AE to add graphics and still photos. I have the sequence setting set the same.

    PP: D1/DV NTSC (0.9091) 30fps Drop Frame
AE: D1/DV NTSC (0.91) Drop Frame

The render problem is general. Even if I am using no dynamic linking with a project – if I render before exporting it seems to mess with interlacing and make something perfectly clear on the timeline fuzzy in the rendered timeline or in the exported .mov container. This happens even if I am not using video.

My camera shoots AVCHD upper feild 1080i and these files are for broadcast, which is SD, so all is sized to go into the 4×3. I have the best luck not rendering the timeline and exporting Pro Res 422. But when I use AE linked into PP I need to render. In one project (linked) I left the timeline un-rendered and in the end half of the time looked good half looked bad.

Thank you for any insight into this issue of getting a clear product from what seems to be clear until the render.

Here is a link to an example of what is happening to the graphics: https://vimeo.com/53876323

I could be totally wrong, but it seems to me at first glance, that you’re using a very thin, curvy font in an SD output.

What if you tried editing the same thing in HD, do you get the same problem?
What if you try a thicker (sans serif) font in SD, do you get the same problem?
