    and….
I am also having problems recording a voice over in PP6.
I am using an external mic via a mic amp and into the line in socket on my mac.
The problem is I can’t set any levels as there is nothing showing on the level meter.
I can actually record the VO no problem but need to see and preview the mic level before I start.
There are times though when I record my Voice overs, when you playback in the timeline they are running at twice the speed and other times they are very distorted and phased…
Not sure what’s going on here !
    Any help appreciated

    Hi Paul,
I have exactly the same problem.
My set up works fine in FCP, but not atall in premier CS6.
I am using a Sound Devices USB Pre2 as a mixer.
My audio is being recorded, but far faster than realtime and I also have no levels.

I also find Premiere CS6 unstable on normal playback and have to regularly re-map the output device, or play an audio file, such a music, outside of a sequence, to trick it into re-mapping itself.

Did you get to the bottom of the problem?

Many thanks in anticiaption of a positive reply!

    Hi Paul,

If you haven’t already check out this tutorial from Jason Levine on doing a Voice Over in Premiere CS6

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3wYN7Zvzgg

    or this post from Premiumbeat.com

    https://www.premiumbeat.com/blog/recording-audio-into-premiere-pro/

What they both fail to mention is once you have your mic and preferences set up to record, in the Track Mixer panel menu there’s an option to show meter inputs.

    Hope this is helpful,
