This project has sequences with a soft vignette matte (to darken the corners). When I export from Premiere / AME with Use Maximum Render Quality checked the vignette is not visible:

Yet it seems OK if I uncheck it:

I created the vignette by adding a video track, inserting a circle effect with a feathered edge, and setting the opacity to about 50. I’ve found that if I crank the opacity up to about 85% I get the effect I want on export, but it appears almost completely black in the Premiere timeline.

Is there a reason that the Maximum Render option would reduce the opacity at export time?

I’ll render without Maximum for now…

    Thanks.

50% is too much. I leave it at 100 % and play around with the feather and size.
Max Render Quality is only needed when you have a non supported CUDA card.
Then again the circle effect is not supported by cuda.

I too have noticed maximum render quality resulting in missing effects.

In one project I had a segment where I had a clip with a track matte from a text layer & a drop shadow on the clip. So it should have looked like the text was punched out of the video with a drop shadow on the text, and that’s what it looked like in my viewer and when rendering from the previews without max quality. When I rendered maximum quality the shadow would not show up in the render.

This was on a mac pro with a non-cuda card
